Tat-Chat's Vision

Don't be a dick. Don't give your tattooer a 1 star review because they didn't ask you what your tattoo means to you. Give them a 5 star review if you love the piece, and nicely mention they aren't the best fit for someone looking for a more personal experience. Got a bitchin' tattoo? 5 stars. They stole your money and never contacted you again about finishing the shitty piece? 1 star.

Emily, a work bestie turned real-life friend, and I were chatting about tattoos and I mentioned there has to be a way to better screen artists you aren't familiar with. As travel tattooing and social media gain in popularity, bad artists and scammers are able to cast a wider net. What if there was a way to search for specific artist reviews without having to also sift through shop and body piercer reviews? What if there was a way to leave an artist a 1-star review without having to leave the shop a review that will ultimately drop their overall rating?

Emily already knew the deets of my bad experience, so we started spitballing names for a user-friendly website people could use to research tattooers. After we lobbed many bad and hilarious potential names, she suggested Tat-Chat and we ran with it.
